Especially, gift-giving consumer holidays play a critical role when it comes to drive traffic into sales. While Easter is approaching, <a href=\"https:\/\/nrf.com\/\">National Retail Federation<\/a> (NRF) has conducted its annual survey in order to analyze this year&#8217;s total retail spending.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">According to NRF\u2019s annual survey conducted by Prosper Insights &amp; Analytics, spending for Easter is expected to reach <strong>$18.4 billion<\/strong> &#8211; up to 6 percent more than the last year\u2019s record of $17.3 billion.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The survey which has been conducted on 7,411 consumers about their Easter <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_896531078\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Sunday<\/span><\/span> plans also reveals that consumers plan to celebrate Easter in several different ways.Those celebrating plan to spend an average of $152 per person, up to 4 percent more than the last year\u2019s previous record of $146.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">This year&#8217;s survey highlights that:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>58 percent of consumers will head to discount stores<\/li>\n<li>46 percent will go to department stores and 26 percent will shop at local small businesses<\/li>\n<li>27 percent will shop online, compared to 21 percent last year<\/li>\n<li>Among smartphone owners, 28 percent will search for products on their devices while 18 percent will use their phones to make a purchase, while another 9 percent will use apps to do their research or purchase products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.price2spy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/easter-2017.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4255\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4255\" src=\"https:\/\/www.price2spy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/easter-2017.png\" alt=\"easter 2017\" width=\"665\" height=\"459\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.price2spy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/easter-2017.png 665w, https:\/\/www.price2spy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/easter-2017-768x530.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Commenting on the findings, <em>Prosper Principal Analyst Pam Goodfellow<\/em> said: &#8220;Easter continues to be a traditional holiday for consumers of all ages, especially young families who are planning to spend a bit more for the celebration. With the later timing of Easter, we will see more consumers shopping for special deals.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Clearly, the results show that the online retail sales will continue to grow over the years.
